Chromakane

Going by the name Chromakane, Jessie Cohen is a London-based artist who works in a precise, illustrative style. Her work combines analogue and digital techniques, beginning as a pen and ink drawing before being digitally rendered. Jessie draws upon her Eurasian heritage when creating her illustrative prints, creating work that lies on the intersection between East and West. The combination of mythological storytelling and her precise attention to detail makes her work both intriguing and visually pleasing.

Chromakane’s Career as an Artist

Jessie has lived between France and Southeast Asia but has since relocated to the UK, studying a BA in Graphic Design before pursuing an MA in Design and Branding Strategy. Originally from a commercial design background, she recently began exploring illustrative art under the alias Chromakane, launching in 2020 with the aim of bringing her ideas to life in the form of prints, textiles and tattoo art.

Representation

Chromakane’s illustrative drawings have quickly attracted international success, featuring in galleries across the world. She also works with a number of resellers such as East End Prints and Not On The High Street, as well as London markets like Canopy and Truman Prints.
