I've been around the visual arts scene for quite a few years now. One of my (artistic) fantasies would be to merge design with the visual arts, but the task is harder than it seems. I used to be happy to talk about my work, I thought it was important to find an overall coherence in your work and to have a well-argued position, but now I prefer to let people make up their own minds. All the same, I can say that my works function like ex-votos, with the ‘relational device’ aspect undoubtedly outweighing the aesthetic dimension. I generally work with poor materials, for example clothes that have been disassembled and then reassembled and coated, or painted blocks of medium or aluminium sheets. I don't despair of one day working on more traditional canvases, but the material is important to me, and I feel more comfortable with ordinary, desacralised materials, which is another way of feeling freer creatively.
