Shezad Dawood is a London-born artist who produces video art, painting and sculpture. In his work, different cultures collide and various philosophies and religions intermingle. There is an appealing brazenness to Shezad’s work that we love, what with his bold and fearless use of symbols and cultural signifiers.
Shezad trained at the Royal College of Art and completed his PhD at Leeds Metropolitan University. In 2011 he received the Abraaj Capital Art Prize, a major art award for the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia.
The artist has exhibited his work at international art fairs and film festivals. He has also contributed to group shows at galleries and museums across the world, as far afield as Honolulu, Japan and India.
