Gina Cross is a London based artist whose work investigates the relationships between shape, colour, space and light. Gina's art practice incorporates sculpture, photography and print she often uses metal plate and paper to create 2d & 3d sculptures and still-life photography, with colour and light playing central roles in how she engages the viewer, leading to an intuitive and experimental approach to her practice.
Originally trained in printed textiles, Gina’s intuitive approach to her work is to experiment with a number of materials and processes to generate her artwork, giving consideration to spacial form, colour and light. Much of her recent work has derived from intuitive processes using her own body movements to create line drawings using a knife and her line of enquiry is the interconnection of shape and space. Gina's original works and prints most often feature the use of copper as either the main material itself or as an embellishment.
