Anna’s work delves into the importance of negative space and the Zen philosophy "Ma" - the spatial relationship between the structural elements. Her paintings and drawings incorporate the Shibumi principles - a complexed process which is not evident in the outcome, to create works of unobtrusive beauty.

She begins by referencing something tangible from nature, and after careful observation strips away all but the non-essential leaving behind gestural marks and elemental colour to capture the essence of the subject.

This removal of the superfluous encourages the observer to slow down and take in the tranquillity of the work.

Her interpretation of Minimalism also incorporates influences from Abstract Expressionism, Mid Century Abstraction and Japanese calligraphy with a gradual move towards Constructivism.

She currently lives in London dividing her time between teaching, painting and coaching other Artists.
