Bella Carlos' Training and Style

Bella Carlos recently graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design and Brown University, taking home degrees in Illustration and Socio-Cultural Anthropology. They are currently pursuing a MA degree in Jewellery & Metal at the Royal College of Art. A key focus in Bella’s drawings is historical entanglement. Recurring motifs of knots and chains appear in their illustrations, encouraging viewers to consider their many dichotomic allusions; trust, confusion, support, lack of agency, and intrigue.

Exhibitions

Bella has featured in several group exhibitions and a solo show titled Paper Towns in Providence, RI. The multi-disciplinary artist has also showcased works in publications, including The Dollhouse Magazine (Summer 2020) and Forge Art Magazine (Issue 23).
