  • Film Stills

    Inspired by a feature film entitled ‘Gholam’ (dir, mitra tabrizian 2017) the work takes a rather unusual approach to the notion of ‘film stills’, as it focuses on the rejected cast, or the extras, rather than the main character(s)- or depicts the empty landscapes, with an implication of narrative. In this respect the images also differ from the usual film stills which rarely devoid of people.

    Mitra Tabrizian

    Mitra Tabrizian is an Iranian-British artist and filmmaker. The artist aims to document the nomadic life of the local people that she interacts with. She's also interested in themes pertaining to corporate culture and migration.

    Mitra’s photographic work has been exhibited and published widely. Her work can be found in major international museums and public collections, including the British Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Smithsonian Institution, Washington and Los Angeles County Museum of Art amongst others.
