This is how Thierry Virton likes to express himself as a defender of creativity in all its forms, the only one, for him, that justifies the artist's reason for being, who must be open to the world, an eternal plastic and chromatic experimenter.

Self-taught painter, color, material, and graphics have always been at the center of Thierry Virton's research. Spontaneity, extreme sensitivity, and overflowing creativity characterize his abstract or figurative works, most often created using mixed techniques, often combining inks and gouaches. In search of all new materials, the recent workshop production of an extremely deep matte black is now greatly influencing his pictorial work.

Eclecticism is therefore the rule for Thierry Virton, and the "series" follow one another through the most diverse encounters and inspirations: an exhibition by Fabienne Verdier, a retrospective of Zhao Wou-Ki, visits to Art Basel, or even the Fukushima event trigger a new "series"; and it has been almost forty years already that Thierry Virton has been exhibiting and living for his passion for art and painting, which he constantly seeks to transform.
