Christian Göbel

With a degree in business administration, he worked for many years as an entrepreneur and manager in various industries. In his mid-40s, he decided to quit his job in the financial sector and give his life a whole new direction. Although not planned, but following the urge for a creative life, he ventured into the art world, which takes a lot of courage and confidence. And that's exactly what his art is about: breaking away from old familiar patterns and conventions. To courageously go new ways and let things take their course.

His professional life to date has been characterized by plans, structures and having things under control as best he can. In his art, on the other hand, Christian Göbel leaves everything largely to chance. He concentrates on the highly diluted acrylic paint and ink, pours and sprays them on the raw canvases. In the process, he uses no brushes or other tools. Through targeted movements, the paint runs in different directions, so that the painting can unfold as independently as possible and receives its unique appearance. "Sometimes wild, sometimes gentle, but always unexpected, it flows across the canvas, creating something new without restraint," says Göbel.

Christian Göbel does not consider his art as a representation of reality or as something concrete that we perceive objectively. He does not paint anything specific, but creates projection surfaces for the thoughts and longings of each individual person.
