Rise Art x Soho Home present: Dwellings

We recently had the pleasure of launching Dwellings, our first exhibition as part of an ongoing partnership with Soho Home. Through the visionary lens of emerging and established artistic talent, Dwellings looks at the emotional and physical depths of space and place.

Experience intricate tapestries woven from the threads of domesticity, heritage, and family dynamics, where each artwork ponders connection, provokes introspection, and invites deep personal interpretation.

Sue Kennington masterfully evokes rootedness and belonging with organic forms; Milena Paladino tantalises the senses through interactive embroideries; Sabrina Brouwers speaks to the therapeutic effects of art through symmetry and disruption.

Day Bowman recreates the coastal landscape of her childhood home, while Henry Ward draws inspiration from domestic spaces - kitchen, shed, and studio - embracing the intriguing concept of site-specific creation. As he aptly puts it, “I think there is something [...] vital about turning the circumstances in which you find yourself into your art and not resisting this.”

This intimate exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to redefine their understanding of what it means to feel at home and the influence of “home spaces" as sites of artistic practice and meaning-making.

The launch event was well attended by designers, artists, and thought leaders alike. We look forward to hosting more networking events, showcases, and panel talks in the future at other Soho Home studios. Currently on show at Soho Home Chelsea, London. Works are also on show at their New York studio in DUMBO House.
