Born in 1965, Laurence Jenkell, known as JENK, is a French artist recognized worldwide for her monumental Candy sculptures, which have become her signature. A sculptor and Pop Art painter, she lives and works in the south of France, where she develops her creations in her studio.
For over 20 years, she has shaped these brightly colored and generously shaped Candies, made of plexiglass, polyester, aluminum, bronze, marble, or even Murano glass. A universal symbol of childhood and sweetness, the Candy becomes a true artistic language for Jenkell. It embodies both lightness and questioning, touching on contemporary subjects such as the environment, society, or animal rights.
While the Candy remains the heart of her work, the artist explores the gesture of twisting through innovative collections such as DNA, Robots, and Wrapping Twist, created in 2017. In 2022, she created Mona Candy, a collection dedicated to Monaco.
Laurence Jenkell also offers participatory workshops "Make Your Own Candy", allowing everyone to create their own plexiglass sculpture, signed and certified.
Her works are exhibited in over 50 countries and are part of numerous private, public, and institutional collections. A Knight of Arts and Letters since 2019, she is listed among the top 500 most highly rated contemporary artists in the world according to Artprice.
