Alina Schiau (born in 1982, Romania) lives and works in Paris.
Welcomed in Switzerland at the age of 2 as a political refugee, she has been dedicated to abstract painting since 2019. Her technique of successive oil layers embodies her exploration of multiple identities: each layer overlaps, dialogues, reveals itself, or fades away.
Her journey—from forced exile to chosen artistic freedom—structures a pictorial research on the layers that constitute us.
Recent solo exhibitions: Spectra (2025) and Prisms (2024), Galerie Partage, Lyon.
Represented by ACID Gallery (Lille), Rise Art, and Partage (Lyon).
