Aurélien Bigot
Aurélien Bigot is a photographer and artistic director specializing in artistic and technical innovations. He developed the flash-painting technique in 2014. Flash-painting is a pictorial technique merging painting and photography, without any digital retouching. Photography is taken through a transparent surface painted by the artist's hand. The light of the subject nestles in the texture, and thus gives the illusion of a painting. The result is raw, visually unique, at the crossroads of the figurative and the abstract.
The spectator is led to doubt, to wonder whether or not it is a painting. And finally obtains this revelation: it is indeed a photograph, perfectly organic, without any digital retouching.
The first exhibition using the flash-painting technique is "mythology", produced in collaboration with photographer Richard Forestier. It is a series of unique photographs, infused in influences of clear-obscure paintings from the 18th and 19th centuries of Caravaggio or Rembrandt, where moving bodies are revealed, ancient drapes, and mythological symbolics. The exhibition was presented in several galleries in Paris and Bordeaux, relayed in media such as Fubiz, Bored Panda or Designer Daily, and unique prints were sold at the prestigious Rossini house in Paris Drouot. Today, limited prints are available for sale on Kazoart.
