Jahan’s upbringing in a creative family (father an artist and mother a weaver) in the USSR has shaped both her inspirations and her career. Having studied music first, Jahan completed a music degree in Moscow, 1988. She started drawing and painting later, after moving to England, attended short courses on watercolour and oil painting, a summer course on drawing at Central St. Martins, followed by a degree in Graphic Design & Illustration 2002-2006 at the University of Hertfordshire. Since then Jahan has been preoccupied with paint and surfaces and the development of the painting process.
Jahan has exhibited in several group shows in the UK, France, Spain, and USA. She was included in the John Moores Painting Prize in 2018. Her recent show was held at The Other Art Fair at The Old Truman Brewery in London, 2021.
