Emma Corrall

Emma Corrall is an emerging interdisciplinary artist. Inspired by the relationship people have to objects and the significance of everyday materials, Emma works across painting and sculpture to create installations that explore human behaviour.

Emma Corrall’s Early Career & Style

Emma holds an MA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins and a BA (Hons) in Painting from Camberwell College of Art, London. The artist examines and highlights the discourses hidden within objects and what they say about modern culture and society. Conceptual projects such as Plastic Projections (2017) closely inspect the uncanny handling of everyday items. Cast porcelain avocados are elevated to alter-like status, surrounded by props like exercise bands to “explore visceral bodily pursuits to find contentment within our states of being”.

Exhibitions and Awards

Emma presented a solo exhibition at Unit 1 Gallery (2018) and has previously presented at Alterego Gallery, Seongbuk Art Commons, and Plastic Projections (all Seoul, South Korea). The artist has also showcased her works at Acme's Project Space (2015). After graduating, she received the Helen Scott Lidgett Studio Award with Acme and has continued to participate in several residencies; Acme Alumni studio Award (2018- 2019), Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity (2018), Antony Gormley Estate (2018), and MMCA (2017).
