Hello Claire. We are delighted to be able to speak with you today! What can you tell us about your beginnings?

There are many people who think that one is born an artist. I don't believe this to be true. Everyone has an artistic seed in them and sometimes it's planted in ripe soil that allows it to grow.

As for me, I come from a family of manual laborers. We made things with our hands that were more practical than artistic. I wanted to know how to draw but I didn't have that gift. I was quickly discouraged without knowing that it could be learned.

In my senior year, during a silk painting workshop, I had a revelation: an intense joy in working with colors. I felt a new energy that gave me life.

I then took drawing and painting classes and became more and more passionate about writing emotions. I began to explore the meaning of life through lines and colors.

I believe that God gives us this harmony and light if we are connected to Him. I started painting while praying and it gave meaning to my work.

From where do you draw inspiration?

I think you have to keep your childlike heart and be constantly amazed.

I try to tell simply what gives meaning to life: Love, friendship, tenderness, music, the beauty of landscapes and nature. The beautiful things to live in life. I would like to give hope through my painting.

I think you have to keep your childlike heart and be constantly amazed.

The power of color is immense and finding harmony is a life's work.

The use of bright color is a recurring theme in your work. What do you think is the power of color?

Color speaks to our senses and our unconscious. It has the power to make us happy or sad, to give us energy or to soothe us.

The power of color is immense and finding harmony is a life's work.

You have been teaching painting and drawing for 20 years. Does this activity have a particular resonance in your personal artistic practice?

These two activities are like communicating vessels that feed each other. I like to share this resourcefulness through artistic expression, learning to play with lines and colors in search of harmony.

The titles of your works breathe joy and optimism. Is this a fundamental and universal value that you wish to transmit through your art?

It seems to me that we are more alive when we are joyful and optimistic than when we are sad. I can't paint in sadness and the painting reflects our state of mind.
