With September off to a good start, more and more is happening in the Art World. New shows and spaces are opening up and there is a sense of excitement in the air after the summer dip. Heres our latest pick of 5 excellent shows that are open over the next week!

Last Chance ending Sunday the 11th of September

Joan Miró at the Tate Modern, London.

Closes on the 11th of September. Open daily from 10am till 6pm.

Joan Miró's works come to London in the first major retrospective here for nearly 50 years. Renowned as one of the greatest Surrealist painters, filling his paintings with luxuriant colour, Miró worked in a rich variety of styles. This is a rare opportunity to enjoy more than 150 paintings, drawings, sculptures and prints from moments across the six decades of his extraordinary career.

Ryan Gander, Locked Room Scenario at Londonewcastle Depot, London.

Ticketed event, open daily from 12 till 7.30pm from the 8th of September till the 23rd of October.

A visit to Locked Room Scenario starts with an appointment to see an exhibition. When you arrive at the warehouse on the corner of Wenlock Road and Micawber Street, the nature of the show and Ryan Gander's connection to the exhibiting artists may not be immediately clear. Accessing the building might be relatively straightforward, but much of the space inside proves inaccessible. Perhaps the exhibition has already closed, or is in the process of being taken down?
