Sir Peter Blake
The exhibition Side-Show will be an in-depth exploration of one of Peter Blake's most iconic portfolios. It consists of five wood-engravings titled 'Tattooed Man', 'Bearded Lady', 'Midget', 'Fat Boy' and 'Giant' which were made between 1974 - 1978. For the first time, this work will be displayed with photographs, proofs and studies from Blake's trove. The prints on display will also reveal the masters of engraving, Eric Ravilious, Edward Bawden, Paul Nash and Claire Leighton, that have greatly influenced Blake's work in one way or another. Side-Show also marks the launch of two new highly detailed etchings on the same theme, one of a wrestler, and another of a tattooed girl.
The exhibition will be running from the 27th November to the 10th of January 2015.
