Studied mixed-media in Lodz. Since the 70s working working with different media.
Between 1981 - 2000 created series of international events, called 'Construction in Process', that took place in different countries with international artists. Participated in numerous international exhibits, among others: Documenta 6, Kassel; 'Pier and Ocean', Hayward Gallery, London; Venice Biennale; Tate Modern, London; MoMA New York; New Museum, New York.
Between 1990 - 1992 was Program Director of the PS.1 Museum, New York. Received a number of prestige art-awards, recently (2017) - Francis Greenburger Award in New York.
