      Bella Carlos

Bella Carlos is an artist, anthropologist and jeweller from Northern Carolina, United States. The illustrator looks to drawing to explore themes of structure and potentiality.

      Bella Carlos' Training and Style

Bella Carlos recently graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design and Brown University, taking home degrees in Illustration and Socio-Cultural Anthropology. They are currently pursuing a MA degree in Jewellery & Metal at the Royal College of Art. A key focus in Bella’s drawings is historical entanglement. Recurring motifs of knots and chains appear in their illustrations, encouraging viewers to consider their many dichotomic allusions; trust, confusion, support, lack of agency, and intrigue.

Bella has featured in several group exhibitions and a solo show titled Paper Towns in Providence, RI. The multi-disciplinary artist has also showcased works in publications, including The Dollhouse Magazine (Summer 2020) and Forge Art Magazine (Issue 23).
