Amir Fallah is an Iranian artist living and working in Los Angeles. The artist’s work interrogates systems of portraiture and representation embedded in the history of Western art. With their Pop Art hues and focus on domestic life, Amir’s paintings wryly incorporate contemporary American tropes into paintings more formally rooted in Islamic Art.
The artist received his BFA in Fine Art & Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art and subsequently gained his MFA in Painting from the University of California. Amir was the recipient of the Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters and Sculptors Grant and was recently chosen to participate in the 9th Sharjah Biennial.Show less
