How did Oliver Proudlock get into art and what does he love about it? Find out in the Q&A below.

What interested you in the Rise Art Prize?

I think it is an amazing project, helping incredible up and coming talent find their feet and give them a voice to showcase their talent. There are so many amazing artists out there, but sometimes it is hard to be seen, and Rise Art is helping people have a platform to do this. I feel so lucky to be involved.

Why did art appeal to you as the subject of your studies at uni?

Ever since I was very young I always wanted to be an artist. It was my passion throughout my teenage years, and specialising in Fine Art after school was my dream come true.

Is art still important to your life and work?

Yes 100%. I still see myself as an artist, but rather than using a canvas and paint, I use different mediums to create within Fashion.

What kind of artwork do you have up at home?

I have some of my mix media paintings, and silkscreen prints, along with some of mine and my girlfriends photography

Is there a particular period of art that you love?

I am a massive fan of Abstract Expressionism, moving into Pop Art. Robert Rauschenberg is my all time favourite artist.
