Ai Weiwei: Forever Bicycles

As part of Scotiabank Nuit Blanche in Toronto this weekend, an enormous reconfiguration of Chinese artist Ai Weiwei’s Forever Bicycles was unveiled in the centre of Nathan Phillips Square. The installation floods the outdoor space, comprising of some 3,144 bicycles and results in such an imposing depth, the piece almost appears blurred.

World-renowned Chinese Artist and activist, Ai Weiwei exhibits his latest installation, Forever Bicycles. The impressive installation comprises of a colossal 3,144 interconnected bicycles in Toronto' s Nathan Phillips Square. As put by Scotiabank Nuit Blanche

'The sheer quantity of bikes and the diverse perceptions of viewing points create a colossal labyrinth-like, visually moving space, which represents the changing social environment in China and around the globe.'
