Ed Saye

British artist Ed Saye lives and works in Winchester, Hampshire, although he exhibits extensively in London and across the country. Working in a range of different media, including watercolour, acrylic and oil paints, Ed creates beautiful canvases that sit somewhere between reality and imagination. Depicting a kind of parallel world, these artworks showcase shadowy people and places that are reminiscent of old photographs and postcards, conjuring up ideas of memory and the ways in which this can become obscured by the passage of time.

Ed Saye’s Career and Education

Originally studying a BA in Modern Languages at Durham University, Ed took his first steps in the artistic world with a foundation degree at the renowned Central St Martins in London. This was followed by an MFA in painting at the Slade School of Fine Art, providing the starting point for his successful career as an artist. Throughout this career he has developed his own unique visual language that combines elements of abstract and figurative styles.

Ed Saye’s paintings have been hung on the walls of galleries across the UK and abroad, in locations such as Switzerland and Denmark. Most notably, he has had solo shows at The Foundry Gallery in London and at the Isolation Room, Copenhagen.
