Kirsty O'Leary-Leeson
Kirsty O’Leary-Leeson draws using the real landscape around her as a metaphor for an inner life of imagination and emotion. She views drawing as a dialogue between thought and the experience of the real, as much to do with reflection as with observation. For Kirsty, drawing records the unfolding of an event altered by memories and expectations, not a notion of the fixed reality of an object. Although drawing is the focus of her current works, her practice extends to painting, illustration and installations.
