Fleur Patrick presents a series of oil paintings that reinterpret found imagery drawn from a wide range of mediated sources. The works employ deliberately non-specific imagery that feels both familiar and elusive, evoking the uncanny through ambiguity. Built from layers of thin, translucent glazes that are partially wiped away, the paintings rely on removal as much as application, creating a tension between presence and absence. Images briefly emerge before dissolving back into abstraction, resisting fixed interpretation. Through this suspended uncertainty, Patrick’s paintings reflect on memory, identity, and experiences of displacement - both physical and emotional.
