Under Our Skin

Brixton Tate Library, Brixton Oval, London
exposition collective

Description

'Under Our Skin' examines what lies beneath the surfaces we’ve learned to present - the lessons we absorbed, the masks we wore, and the truths we eventually let out. Through diverse queer perspectives, this group exhibition explores how identity is taught, tested, and ultimately embodied. From classrooms to coming out to coming undone, from bullying to belonging, these works expose the ways people and places have gotten under our skin. They reveal the marks that made us: the words that bruised, the lessons that liberated, the scars left by survival.

I’m delighted to be exhibiting two artworks: “Adrian and Rowan”, a drawing from my series ‘There is never more than a fag paper between them’ and “Ghost within me # 1”, an embroidered collage from my series ‘Ghost within me’.

At the launch event on Thursday 5 February I will be taking part in a panel discussion on the importance of queer art - click 'visit site' below for more info and to book tickets.
