About the Art

Oil on canvas. The setting for this work is Deptford, close to the artist's studio. The detritus of past lives exposed at low tide includes clay pipes and fragments of old bottles etc. Several generations of the artist's family lived in Deptford and worked in the maritime trade that once thrived here.
