‘echo’ is an exploration into the opposite of entropy. While this state might be simply thought of as order, Jane Boyer suggests it is transference, and attempts to describe it through three postulates in her work: breakdown becoming build-up, emptying becoming filling, repetition becoming change. ‘echo’ is a visual representation of this final postulate as the image, similar in form to a sound wave, changes shape and appearance as it is repeated.
