Carl Jennings creates images that are deliberately uncertain, open-ended, and singular.
Jennings grounds his imagery in the poetic immediacy of experience.
The artist is interested in the human imagination, and its role in perception and meaning-making.
Carl Jennings was born in Liverpool, UK. He completed his MFA at Falmouth College of Arts (UK) and undergraduate degrees in Art and Philosophy at San Francisco State University (USA). He has exhibited widely both nationally and internationally and his work is held in both public and private collections worldwide. He is currently a professor of art at Kapi’olani Community College (University of Hawai'i).
