Born in 1969 in Burkina Faso, Ousmane Dermé devoted himself entirely to sculpture from the 1980s. He quickly touched a large audience by creating bronze works that play with the lines and clean forms. It is distinguished in particular by designing and carrying out the monument of the organization of African unity (OUA) in Ouagadougou.
In 2005, he created his workshop in the south of France where he has resided since. His creations are present in private collections in many countries.
According to his inspirations, Ousmane Dermé essentially interprets the human figure by looking for the movement of matter to express the beauty of nature and life. He creates sculptures with smooth shapes and clean lines inspiring harmony and serenity.
