Chris Pillot

Dedicated to painting for 35 years, Christine Pillot has studied in the 80s at the Fine Arts in Toulouse and at the Faculty of Plastic Arts in Bordeaux. Young painter, she seeks and defends her work in the face of preconceived ideas. At 23 she left for Senegal with her backpack, and remained there from 1988 to 2008. During these 20 African years, together in Mauro Petroni, she co-directed the workshop "Ceramics Almadies" Center d'Art, Galerie d 'Exhibition and workshop, place of reference for artists and cultural operators. This space is still very active today and participates in the Dakar contemporary art biennial. It multiplies artistic projects, orders, scenographies, design of space and objects. Her exhibition journey takes her work in several African and Europe countries. She then explores color, transparencies, she superimposed, at that time the white of the bottom was a taboo. His series will be on research of geometric abstraction. In recent years in Dakar, she has worked the artistic expression with patients at Fann's psychiatric hospital, and with children from the streets of the Samu Social. Since 2009 she lives in her native country and resides in Bordeaux where her workshop is located . Set current canvases are visible in Bordeaux, these series have been made on themes assimilated to the evolutionary process of creation in nature, on the scientific and organic level, constant and precise work of the hand in space and time , eternal restart. Since 2020 she has devoted herself to variation in indigo color.
