Sir Peter Blake
We're excited to offer these limited edition prints from one of the greats. Sir Peter Blake is an iconic British figure, made famous through the Pop Art movement of the 1960s. He created the sleeve of The Beatles album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and was one of the first to work in this…Show more style, collaging images from advertisements and the media. He continues to work prolifically from his London studio.
Blake has always experimented with typography and ‘found letters’. His work is often warm and positive. Recent text pieces ‘I Love You’ and ‘Hope’ are typical of this style. Celebrity images also feature in his work. These prints include works which feature Elvis and Marilyn Monroe.
These prints are made available through My Life in Art, which aims to exhibit new graduates alongside established names. Blake is a champion of emerging artists, including many on Rise Art.
All prints are strictly editioned, signed and numbered by the artist.Show less
"The Godfather of Pop Art, Peter Blake is instantly recognised for his work with the Beatles, including the cover of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and his contribution to the Pop Art movement. Now in his Eighties, the artist is still prolific, creating beautiful works that are instantly recognisable, quite collectable, yet still very affordable."
