Pauwels studied Life Drawing at the Constantin Meunier Art School in Brussels, Graphic Design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Dendermonde and Etching at the Academy of Fine Arts in Aalst.

She has had both solo and group shows at museums, galleries, artist-run spaces and art fairs in Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Spain.
Her artwork has been awarded and published internationally and can be found in private, public and corporate collections throughout the world.
Pauwels her work is centered around silence and solitude.
Her canvas’ are wooden panels, built upon with newsprint and oil paints. Many with embedded written, often ambiguous or challenging, thoughts.
The titles and the subjects themselves a comment on social attitudes.Show less
