This show will feature photographic landscapes found in subject matter unrelated to the view. As Russell Page said, “A discerning eye needs only a hint, and understatement leaves the imagination free to build its own elaborations.”

I get odd looks from strangers when they see the contortions I get into to get shots they can't imagine anyone taking a picture of. In this case the patterns on the cement curb were calling out to me. Even this cat is looking askance!

I'm in front of a window contemplating the perfect composition for what I find in my field of vision. Anything in the world can be subject matter, a palette of forms and colors stripped of all assumptions and labels.
Sometimes beauty is right in front of us if we look in the less obvious direction. Instead of taking in the horizontal view that this scenic overlook structure was built to access, this composition was captured by looking straight up.
I thought I was alone when I found this beautiful biomorphic composition. See "Hitched". The truck’s owner popped up and asked what I was doing. His truck as art made no sense to him. He gave me a threatening look and told me to leave.
