About the artist

Abi Box is a British artist who paints luminous landscapes that border on the abstract. Recognisable landscapes break down into light-flooded visions of colour and texture. Abi paints in a loose, easy style that gives her canvases a liberated and joyous feel. We love the characteristic brightness of this artist’s work - her paintings have a remarkable back-lit quality that gives them an almost stained-glass-window look.

The artist specialised in Sculpture and Environmental Design at the Glasgow School of Art.
She has since attended several artist residencies in Switzerland, Wales and Peru.

Abi is recognised by art critics nation-wide, and has exhibited her work in the UK and Hong Kong. Collectors of her paintings include the UAL Alumni Collection and Simmons Contemporary. Her work was recently selected by Curator Kristian Day to appear in his feature in Art Maze Mag 2018.

The Insider Kathryn Roberts says:

"Abigail Box explores pattern and light. I admire the way she focuses on the paint's ability to visually describe and reinvent the natural and manmade world we live in."
