James Mackeown, who lived in Normandy near Etretat and who now lives in Brittany, presents his paintings with an impressionist touch. Browse the intimate and sweetness scenes of the Irish painter. Ireland in Brittany. Born in 1961, James Mackeown grew up in Ireland, East Anglia, Turkey and Wales. He lived in Normandy, near Etretat from 1988 and now lives in Brittany in the Côte d'Armor. Son of an artist and grandson of Irish artist Tom Carr, James Mackeown has always painted. At 15, he was already recognized and exhibited in galleries in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Productive and independent, he was accepted in various art schools, yet chose, after consultation with the British artist William Coldstream, a close friend to the grandfather of James Mackeown, to continue his own way, by working from life and by exhibiting each year. While continuing his passion as an artist, he painted and exhibited m in France where he lives.
