Raen Barnsley

Raen Barnsley is a multi-disciplinary artist and curator who lives and works across London and the West Midlands. She achieved an MA in Fine Art at City and Guilds London School of Art in 2019. ​ Barnsley uses a highly saturated colour palette and a wide range of textures, aiming for them to bounce off each other and contrast with their surrounding elements as much as possible. An emphasis on the experimentation and possibilities of materials and digital imaging software and runs heavily through her practice,

Spanning print, painting, collage, and sculpture, her works are often designed in a similar method to the production of digital images; using multiple layers, areas of indicated transparency, and highly saturated, screen-type colours.

Barnsley was awarded The Jealous Prize in 2020, became an alumni of the prestigious Bloomberg New Contemporaries in 2017, and has exhibited nationally and internationally throughout this time.
