On The Rise

Spring is in the air here in the UK, and while it may be a bit too early to pack away the overcoats for another year, the movement of the clock and the extra daylight hours have definitely made the team at Rise Art eager to get outside of the office and see an extra show or two midweek.

If you are in the capital, it is worth checking out the British Art Show at the Hayward Gallery. My colleague Lorena loved the show and reviewed it back in February. With the close fast approaching on April 17th, it is definitely worth a visit to see this excellent exhibit of 39 British Artists curated by Lisa Le Feuvre and Tom Morton.

I am also looking forward to visiting First Wednesday’s in Notting Hill this week. This relatively new London art and fashion evening in the West is coming on strong, and if the current weather holds this should be a great evening.

Over on the Rise Art website, we have just released 2 new prints from emerging artist Alma Haser. In ‘Stateless’, Alma presents beautifully regal and sophisticated portraits of stuffed museum birds. Working with Alma, we have produced Teal & Rough-Legged Buzzard in a limited edition of 50 archival prints. If you haven’t seen it, do have a look at our interview with Alma.

The team and I are working hard to showcase an array of emerging art talent as chosen by you and our Board of Curators. Already, based on your votes, the Curators have selected dozens of Select Artists that we are now actively commissioning work from. Cast your vote and help us decide who will become the next Select Artist on the site!

As we continue to release more curated original artwork on the site, we hope you’ll connect with some of the artists online and discover the perfect print for your collection. Join the conversation and stay connected via our Facebook for previews of new work and invitations to our upcoming events.
