This month it’s been all about goals and resolutions, as we embraced the start of another new year with open arms. Gym memberships, fad diets and dry January aside, there’s something serious to be said about the effect of environment on our mood, so if you make anything your mantra for this month (and no, it’s not too late to set one) bring your attention back to the home, and make it a haven with art. We’ve got you covered with our blog on the 6 Ways to Bring in Art This New Year, so give it a read and let us guide you.

Rise Art News

A Tropical Commission | Alexandra Gallagher

Whether she’s busy taking part in a city street art project, or being featured on the front page of a magazine, Alexandra Gallagher is an artist worth keeping your eye on. She’s currently working on this original mural for a client in her signature surreal style, transforming their conservatory into a tropical hideaway. We wouldn’t mind a little something like this to brighten up the office…

Niki Hare @ Ruskin Gallery

Right: What was that?, £1,500

Out and About With Rise Art

The London Art Fair

Left: artwork by Lee Jeffries

Right: Adventure by Ben Eine, £825

Head curator and art expert Rebecca Gordon kicked off 2017 with a visit to the first major London art fair of the year last weekend. Amongst a sea of fresh emerging talent - watch this space! - she also spotted a few familiar pieces from some Rise Art artists. Amongst her favourites were stand out works by Lee Jeffries, Barbara Hepworth and Ben Eine.

Rise Art @ Avenue

Left: Central Park by Laura Jordan

Right: One World, One Dream by Cai Yuan, £575

Last night, the curatorial team hosted an evening of art and wine at the ever glamorous Avenue restaurant to celebrate the hanging of a new series of artworks. From famed prints by Sir Peter Blake, Cai Yuan and Laura Jordan to original abstracts from Rosaline Al Oumami, it’s safe to say it’s a rather opulent display, and well worth a visit to Mayfair for.

Art World Happenings

TeamLab @ PACE Gallery

If you’re a lover of art or tech in any capacity (we know we tick both those boxes), make sure to add this show straight to your must-see list. The interactive exhibition features immersive artworks and light installations that break free of the traditional gallery wall and move with the viewer.

Collect 2017

Deemed ‘The International Art Fair for Contemporary Objects’, this exhibit is for all the eclectic collectors out there, whose collections span all genres and mediums of art. Starting 2nd February and set in the prestigious venue of London’s Saatchi gallery, this 5 day show offers you the chance to browse and buy museum-quality makes from an array of artists represented by some of the world’s finest galleries.

Anselm Kiefer @ The White Cube

We can’t think of a better location for Kiefer’s latest show than the pristine space of the White Cube. We’ve never seen it so dark, transformed into an almost timeless vessel filled with vast paintings and haunting installations. Step into ‘Walhalla’ before it ends next month; it’s truly of epic proportions, and you won’t regret it.
