In the Artist's House: Kristin Gaudio Endsley

Abstract artist, Kristin Gaudio-Endsley's work has quickly caught the eye of critics and collectors alike.

Kristin Gaudio-Endley Flat

When we moved into our flat in Hoxton (previously we had been living in Islington), I felt at home right away…I love the flat and our neighborhood! It is a bit noisier, but coming from NYC I'm used to it. Our house is a two bedroom conversion - light and airy, I love the feeling of space and light inside. Our back window (shown above) looks out onto the Geffrye Museum - a wonderful view all year around! The photo is a Jeffrey Milstein print from his Aircraft: The Jet As Art series. It was a gift to my husband who is a pilot.

Most of my furniture is black, white, and grey - but I love these bright turquoise chairs that add an ooze of color. I picked them up at a flea market in Wichita, Kansas for practically nothing! The collage behind it is the first collage I completed with Hannah Adamaszek. We are doing several pieces of work together, but this one will be particularly hard to let go. The print in the background is one I bought several years ago, and I think it is still my favorite purchase. It is a limited edition Richard Misrach signed print from his series On The Beach. His work is extremely beautiful and powerful.

All these pieces above our cabinet are very special to our home. The photograph is a picture of the beach where my husband and I met and where we got married. (As you can probably draw from this image, in addition to the books, we are particularly 'beachy' people!) The yo-yo is a gift from my husband's grandfather, who made the piece from local wood and stone in his hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee. The conch shell is from our honeymoon in Anguilla. It was not easy to pack but I am so glad we did.

This photo is of my mother and I at my grandparent's farm in upstate New York. It evokes wonderful childhood memories of swimming in the river, hiding horses, picking berries, and rocking back and forth on the front porch.

We have recently begun to pick up art books from our travels. This one was is from Madrid, and the exhibition we attend was hyperrealism. Now I have a piece in my home that showcases beautiful artwork, but reminds me of our travels and the things we have done.

I collect postcard prints of exhibitions I have attended…it is my "someday" art collection.  If I could buy all of these I would.

The rest of these photos are of our home on a typical Saturday - I'm usually running around, and my husband is drinking coffee and reading his National Geographic.  I am often pulling out my new work to wrap, ship, or store, and reviewing ideas of inspiration I have pulled, and the different colour combinations I want. Basically working! He is relaxing until I need his help (which is often.)
