Style Mummy is a blog dedicated to it's owner, Alison Cosier's, love of style. Style, be that in terms of fashion, interiors, people or places. It's also about successful creatives, who Alison has total admiration for, people who are hard workers, who are full of passion and dedication for their chosen field.

'The cupboards in the kitchen are beautifully hand crafted in oak by local firm Baker & Baker. I wanted more of a free standing furniture feel than built in units, so chose bracket feet and recessed backboards and rounded corners. The colours are Farrow & Ball, natch, a deliberate choice of 2 different paint colours (pigeon and incarnadine) plus the opposite colours in the granite work surfaces to add interest.

'The lamp shades are antique Holophane dating from the 1900's, sourced from a reclaim yard. I scoured the country for a year to find 4 matching with vintage brass fittings. We used antique bricks in a herring bone pattern and an ancient oak beam for the fireplace and added a modern Morso log burner, a lovely focal point on cool winter days. I wile away most of my time in this gorgeous space, working, cooking, looking at the garden and dreaming.'

'It was hard to choose one piece of art from Rise Art as there's just so many great pieces in one place. I finally chose Parts Of by the marvellous Niki Hare. It's a large scale abstract and would like great on the antique brickwork in our kitchen. I loved all her pieces, she's definitely one to watch.'
