On January 9tth of this year, London Transport marked the 150th anniversary of the first Underground Railway in the world. In celebration the TFL rolled out all the stops, with an original steam locomotive recreating the original journey. If you haven't yet seen the video, watch it here.
Art has always played an important part in how London Transport has been viewed by the public. From the early days of TFL branding, to the more recent Art on the Underground, artists have always played a hand in how people view public transportation in London.
In our latest collection - we showcase some of the artists across Rise Art who have used London and the tube as inspiration for their latest work. From the Collagraph Prints of Barry Goodman, and Subterranea Maps by Stephen Walter to the GPS drawings by Jeremy Wood.
