Marcus Bastel's photographs represent an America that most of us know only from films. He is careful not to include people, but what they appear to have left behind; swimming pools, water tanks, furniture and houses. The images are left empty of movement, like a set waiting for the actors to arrive. He is a tutor at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and is currently represented by Anoukh Foerg Literary Agency in Munich.
