  • Rough-legged Buzzard

    ‘Rough-legged buzzard’ is taken from Haser’s project ‘Stateless’. For the series, Alma has drawn inspiration from the migration of birds to tell a story of freedom and statelessness. The series was first conceived when Alma reflected on her stepfather’s plight to obtain a passport in England. Despite living in the country all his life, he was unable to obtain a passport for years due to an error on his birth certificate.     Alma Haser

    Alma Haser is a German photographer known for her carefully constructed portraits. Her work is an interesting mix in that, on the one hand, she favours traditional photographic methods, and on the other, she enjoys adding inventive elements to her images. We’re particularly excited about Alma’s extraordinary taxidermy prints, which are exclusive to Rise Art.

    Alma trained at Nottingham Trent University, where she was named one of the top four photography graduates of her year. She has since received multiple awards for her work, both in the UK and abroad.
