  • Katherine Mellor

    The Insider Katherine Mellor says:

"I am a huge fan of Georgia Peskett’s work. She paints unremarkable and often ignored elements of the city, bringing them to life in front of us and drawing out their beauty. I selected her work for a hang at Century Club in Soho, where the quality of her colour and line draws attention from members and visitors."

  • New Coat

A woman making her way through the London Underground, this painting is part of an on-going series of work about people in transit, commuters and travel.
The coat is also a protective outer layer, to me it symbolises comfort, warmth and safety.

This painting was selected for the Columbia Threadneedle Painting exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London February 2018.

It is oil on silk over canvas, this painting is framed in an off white tray frame.

So she took off for New York, where her father, the artist Stan Peskett, introduced her to the 80s NYC downtown scene. It was a chance to get to know her dad, who had always lived in the US while she grew up in the UK.
