    Paper and power collide in the work of Justine Smith. She's one of a wave of British artists who have established paper as a newly important medium. Smith uses paper cutting to examine the concept of money through series such as Money Maps and Chocolate Money.

    The banknote, which is just a piece of paper, represents some of the biggest ideas which underpin our society, and affect everyone's lives. The note also has a physical beauty that Smith explores through cutting and folding. She transforms our relationship to these symbols of power.
