    The Orange Holy Cow – Kumar has taken up the bold, fluorescing colours on Indian advertising art in its various forms to cut though the picturesque, giving a sharp contemporary twist to the traditional Indian motifs. The sacred Hundu bovine competes for attention with a brazen wall advert, oblivious to it.

    Background of the Holy Cow series:
    The Holy Cow was wandering through a street in Kolyat - a small temple town on the edge of the Thar desert, near Bikaner in Rajasthan.

    Natasha Kumar

    Natasha Kumar is a British artist whose work captures her paternal Indian heritage. Natasha’s prints incorporate the patterns, colours and characters of India. They’re bright and rich with cultural symbolism and references.

    The artist earned a place at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition at the age of just 17. She went on to study Printmaking at the University of Manchester, pursuing her studies further at Venice Accademia and then Camberwell in London.
