    De occulta philosophia
    Recently, I have been thinking about the idea of simplicity, simplicity in its every form, in a world that is constantly transforming and getting progressively more complex while basic human needs have remained the same for centuries.
    In my work, I was feeling uninspired and tired of trying to achieve perfection while respecting lines and colors in order to represent reality and to ultimately create something beautiful. I felt constrained by my own rules, as if I were in a box, a cell that I created for my own protection.

    Karenina Fabrizzi

    Karenina Fabrizzi is an Italian artist based in Spain whose paintings blend the ordinary and the fantastic. Her portraits and flower works are at once delicate and dark. There’s something mystical about Karenina’s work that lures in the onlooker.

    The artist studied Fine Art and Graphic Design at Escuela Superior de Creativos Publicitarios, Buenos Aires. She has also taken courses in Photography and Painting in Milan and Barcelona. For a time, Karenina worked under the legendary Jeff Koons as a painting assistant.
