    • Heavily influenced by his days spray painting graffiti in London.
    • Bloomfield's art is purposely accessible, as he states, 'everyone should have an original painting in their home'.

    The paintings Bloomfield creates combine ideas of two of his favourite artists [Mark Rothko and Antony Gormley] by placing figures in stark and sometimes harsh landscapes with unyielding horizons. The material he enjoys the most is spray paint: “I often used spray paint as a teenager when out creating guerilla art with friends in London. The idea of using street material in a more traditional way appeals to me a lot”. He also prefers working with the cool tones of greys and black as it leaves more to the viewer’s imagination, and is more thought provoking.

    Robert Owen Bloomfield

    Robert Bloomfield paints tiny figures in stark, unyielding landscapes. The British artist favors spray paint and works predominantly in cool tones of grey and black. The effect is introspective and moody. The smallness of Robert’s human figures, set against the immensity of the landscapes in which they wander, seems to suggest something about the human condition. We love the existential spirit of these canvases, and the thoughts about solitude they inspire.
